Usage Rights and Licensing
Can I really use my transformations royalty-free?
Yes, our singers share in our revenues, allowing you to use your creations without any further payment. You do not need to use any vocalist release forms, performer consent forms, and you retain all publishing and mastering rights when using transformed vocals.
Are there any limits on how I can use the vocals I create?
You can use your creations in any way you choose, including releasing them as part of a song or production. The only limitations are that you may not use our singer's voice models to promote hate speech, defamation, intolerance, or any other uses prohibited in the Terms of Use that you agreed to when signing up.
Do I need to credit the model I have used?
While not a legal requirement, we ask that you credit the singer wherever credits are customarily shown, including in metadata. If you use them as a lead vocal in any part of the song, please credit them as a featured artist. Crediting helps build their profile and work, which in turn can help promote your credited releases.
Technical Questions
Can I upload files with autotune on them?
Yes, you can. However, for the most natural results, we recommend adding any tuning before the transformation process.
I'm getting artifacts in my conversions. What am I doing wrong?
This is usually related to the input vocal. Please see the following articles for in-depth information.
In some cases, overuse of the advanced controls can cause artifacts to occur.
Can I slot the vocals I create straight back into my DAW?
Yes! The timing of your audio file, including any silence at the beginning, will be preserved. For example, if you have bounced your demo vocal from a bar, just slot the transformed vocal back in at exactly the same point and everything will line up.
How much higher should I transpose a male voice if I want to transform it into a female voice?
Every voice is different, but as a general rule, 5 or 6 steps is a good starting point. The general idea is to get the vocal into the sweet spot of the desired singer's range. Use whatever sounds best to you! More details can be found in the Best Practices area of the website.
Ethics and Training
Are your models trained on real singers, and have they agreed to this?
Yes, all our models are trained on real singers who have agreed to the use of their voice in exchange for revenue share from our subscriptions. All of our voice models have received Fairly Trained certification.
Subscription Management
Can I upgrade my subscription tier if I run out of credits?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time. Any unused credits will rollover into your new plan. Please see Upgrading and Downgrading for more information.
